Addon Description

Using Thunderbird, Quicktext is the perfect tool to help you quickly answer routine, repetitive emails. Quicktext performs both simple and complex tasks. The program can insert different signatures into your emails depending on whom you are sending the email to. Quicktext now exists as two versions: Quicktext and Quicktext Pro. The Pro version have even more features and can be found on the extensions homepage. Even better, you can use variables like [[TO=firstname]] to personalize your emails. You can also specify an emails subject and which attachments to add when creating a template for your email. There are many easy ways to insert a template: by toolbar; by adding a button to the main-toolbar; you can right-click and choose a template; you can set up shortcuts like Alt+1 to insert a specific template; and most useful of all, the keyword feature. Just add a keyword to a template and then write that word in the email and press TAB---the keyword is then replaced by the template. If you are a new user to Quicktext I recommend that you start with reading the Getting Started guide on the extension homepage. The guide will help you with installing and setting up Quicktext. It you have problem with the latest version do this: Uninstall version 0.9.7.2 or which version you are using. If you don't see Quicktext in the extension manager just restart Thunderbird at least 2 times. Then install version 0.9.9.9. If that don't work check the forum that exists on the extensions homepage. The splash-screen should only be showed the first time Thunderbird is started after you installed the extension. If you continue to see it just set the pref "quicktext.firstTime" to false. But please contact me first so I can understand what the problem is so I can fix it.

Requirements:
  • Thunderbird: 1.5 – 3.0a1

  • Whats new:
Since there has almost a year since the last release new features has been added and many, many bugs has been fixed.

There seams to be a problem with the update function. To fix it just reinstall the extension again. No templates or groups are removed so you will see them again when you have reinstalled.
